Eastgate was finally closed on the 1st December 1975. All trace of the station was eventually obliterated, and it's site is now occupied by a road and an Asda superstore (opened in the early 1980s).

By this time, both stations were simply known as 'Gloucester', and here we see platforms 2 and 3 in the former Eastgate station.Previous | NextThis unidentified BR blue Western was pictured speeding through Tiverton Junction in May 1975.
